Retrospective

I was just thinking about babies' first words and how important they seem to be. Usually (or at least on TV) they end up being something like "Mommy" or "Daddy" because that is who they feel most comfortable with.

I must not have been normal because my first words were "yes" and "Jesus."
no, seriously they were.

My brothers, sister, and the neighbor kids use to always ask me questions like, "Hey, Audrey. Do you want to marry Pete (our dog)?"
and I would be like, "Yeeeeessss," every time.
Then they would die laughing.
Yeah, real funny guys.

My first words never really seemed very signifigant to me until just lately, though, as I've been struggling with trusting God and being willing to do whatever He asks. I came to the realization that when I am doubting God, I simply need to go back to my childhood reasoning and just say, "Yes, Jesus," and trust him to catch me when I jump.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

So does anyone know what their first word(s) was?

Awkward

Shortly after arriving at my fake families annual Prairie Camp carry-in lunch thing at Sharron's (unairconditioned) cabin, I realized it was a mistake to have come. Why you ask?

1) Right when I got there Brittany called me on my cell to tell me I was supposed to be working at that very moment in old Bourbon town 45 minutes away. Luckily Brittany sorted that out--but I now owe her a chocolate chip pancake breakfast.

2) It was bloody hot outside not to mention inside the cabin.

3) There were about 25 people there that I only sort of knew, so awkwardness was at its highest.

4) I was designated as the official babysitter which entails being the all-time merry-go-round pusher.

But tonight I get to go to Spirit and Truth at church , so it is all worth it in the end, right?

right.

Have a great day.

Tribute to the Razzle

Refering to Jeanna Sell's last entry, I too have been drawn to the Bourbon Video/Tanning/ Ice Cream out of pure curiousity of the treat which they call "Razzle." Only a few short hours ago, I venture out on a quest to discover the truth about this creamy confectionary. This is what I discovered. Not only is the Razzle creamy and cold, but it is indeed, for lack of a better word, razzleicious! For those of you sad, sorry souls unfamiliar with the greatness of the Bourbon Video/Tanning/Ice Cream ice cream, a Razzle is the Dairy Queen equivalent of the Blizzard, the Ritter's equivalent of the Glacier, and the McDonald's equivalent of the McFlurry. Do not be skeptical of the pure, ice tastiness of the Razzle, as I once was, solely because its lack of a cold sounding name (ie. Blizzard, Glacier, McFlurry). While these other treats must rely on a cold sounding name to sell, the Razzle stands alone in its razzley state and has no need for a cold name. It is what it is. And it is THE RAZZLE.
